Policies and FAQ's.
Payments:
- Reservations require a credit card.
Cash is our preferred method of payment but we do accept Visa, Mastercard
and AmEx. Payment in full is due on arrival. For our Canadian
guests- save yourself the international currency conversion fees on
your credit card by paying in Canadian (or US) dollars. We use this
currency converter and will let you
know day of arrival what the US-Canadian conversion is. At that
point you can opt to pay in US or Canadian dollars or use a credit
card. At the present time, this currency service is only available
to guests using Canadian funds. We hope to offer it in the future
for Euros. (Change is given in the same currency used to pay the
balance.)
Arrival and Departure:
- Check-in is from 3 PM to 7 PM.
- Check-out is at or before 11 AM.
- Late check-out may be arranged, as reservations allow, for an additional charge
of $35.
Late check-out must be arranged at time of booking. Unscheduled late
check-out will be charged a minimum of $50. Late check-out after 1 PM
will be charged a full night.
- No refunds will be given for late
arrivals or early departures.
Cancellation Policy:
- If you find you must cancel your reservation with us, we need to know
at least 7 days in advance of your arrival date.
- Cancellations
received with less than 7 days' notice will be charged for all nights
not rebooked by other guests.
- No-shows or cancellations with less than
24 hours' notice will be charged the
entire stay regardless.
- No refunds for late arrivals or early departures.
- Exceptions to the 7 day cancellation policy are wedding
(whole house) and
multiple room (3 or more rooms) bookings. For these there is a 30 day cancellation period and there is a
one night deposit required per room booked. Deposit will be taken at
time of booking.
- As we have no control over weather, family situations, airline
delays or cancellations, etc our cancellation policies apply equally to those
circumstances. Please consider travel insurance if your plans are
uncertain.
Breakfast:
- If you have any dietary restrictions, please inform us at the time of your reservation so we may work with you to prepare
a healthy, delicious breakfast you will enjoy. We do our best to accommodate guests with
dietary restrictions.
- Dietary restrictions include things like no
sugar for diabetics, allergies to eggs or milk, religious restrictions on
pork and shellfish, no meat for vegetarians, etc.
In the event we cannot accommodate your particular restriction we
have cereals, yogurt, granola and whole wheat toast.
- A guest refrigerator/freezer is available for storing items which need to
remain cold. There is also a microwave for reheating. However,
there is no access to a kitchen for cooking.
- Breakfast
is served from 8 - 9:30 AM.
Pets:

- Well-behaved dogs are allowed in our Bowdoin room.
No other pets allowed.
- Dogs
may not remain
unattended in room, except during breakfast.
- There is an additional room
charge of $25 for your dog.
- Any extra cleaning or repairs required because of your dog will be charged to your
credit card.
- Due to our insurance requirements we are
not allowed to accept certain breeds of dogs. Let us know what
breed your dog is when you make your reservation.
- If you will need pet-sitting arrangements, please call
Pawsibilities at 207-865-6647. For pet boarding, please contact The
Brown Dog Inn at 207-865-1255.
- There is a resident inn dog so all guest dogs are required to have
up-to-date vaccinations for rabies. Fleas and ticks are common in all
coastal areas of Maine, please be sure to protect your dog against these
pests.
Other FAQ'S:
- Smoking: We are a non-smoking inn. Smoking is allowed outside the building only. We appreciate your cooperation!
Fees for extra cleaning or repairs and revenue losses due to smoking in the building will be
charged to your credit card.
- Children are welcome here at White Cedar Inn. Due to the presence of antiques and steep stairs we do request that parents
strongly consider their child's ability to refrain from running through the house and their child's ability to
sit quietly at breakfast. There are no childcare facilities or baby
gear such as cribs or high chairs on the premises. Children under the
age of 16 must remain with you at all times.
- Parking: There is parking for one car per room only. If
you are traveling in separate cars we need to know at booking so we
may find other parking arrangements for our own vehicle. You may
park here on arrival even if that is before check-in. No need to let
us know!
