At the end of the world - Land’s End, Maine
Took a drive on a beautifully sunny, but remarkably frigid, day last week to Land’s End on Baily Island. Wandered around on the rocks, watching the surf pounding against granite cliffs. Cold as it was we decided to wait for sunset so I could freeze my fingers off taking some pix. Someday, I am going to get up with the dawn and take some sea smoke photos. But not this week.
Maine photographers are a hardy bunch, that’s for sure. We were not the only folks out there, tripods at the ready, or scrambling around for the best angle. The gift shop deck is a great place to park yourself for the daily show. They even left a couple of rockers out if you happen to be there on a relatively sunny, calm day. BTW, the ‘Road Ends’ sign should not be taken lightly. If you’ve never been out here and you’re barreling along, it’s best to slow down when you see the sign. Pull off into the parking lot on the right and enjoy the view!
Here are a few more pix I got before it was just too cold.
