Lighthouses: Doubling Point Light – easy to see on the Kennebec River, not so easy to find. Pick up a free guide book in the living room with complete directions to all Maine lighthouses.

Hiking: Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park – Casco Bay Trail – meander in and out of the pine forest along the coast spotting osprey and harbor seals along the way. |
Lobsterman: Haul up your dinner on a lobster boat cruise out of Portland. Any keepers are for sale on the dock, where you can have them cooked.

Nature Viewing: Hardy Boat Puffin Watch – out of New Harbor from June thru August (until the puffins leave). 5:30 PM |
On the River: 3 hour cruise on the Kennebec River from Bath to Fort Popham. See lighthouses, seals, eagles, osprey, sturgeon and more.

On the Bay: Take the mail boat on either the morning or afternoon run. Discover the islands in the Casco Bay. |
Beach: Totally rustic – Seawall Beach – 2 mile hike over Morse Mountain. No facilities. Limited admission.

Stop and Smell the Roses: At the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. |
Bird Watching: Bradbury Mountain - raptor flyway (April – May); town dock – sea birds; Cousins River – great blue herons; Brunswick Airport – snowy owls (winter). | Walk to an Island: At low tide on Popham Beach you can walk to the Fox Islands. Hike to the top for the vista and a small memorial plaque. |
