Summer Vacation News
It’s time for Summer Vacation! We were quite happy to read this travel article in Newsday this week: Traveling for Summer Food Favorites
Freeport, Maine:
…There’s plenty to do in nearby Freeport in addition to shopping at the L.L. Bean flagship store, which is open 24 hours a day. Bikes and kayaks can be rented at Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park, where miles of roads, trails and estuaries offer scenic vistas.
Visit the “Desert of Maine,” a sand dune outside town created when a glacier slid through the area 11,000 years ago. Pitch a tent at Winslow Park and Campground. Or check into the White Cedar Inn (whitecedarinn.com) a white clapboard, green-shuttered bed-and-breakfast right in town.
Of course, you want to get the lobster roll they mention in the article! The Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster is 4 miles from here, on the dock in South Freeport.
But, don’t forget your day starts here with a great breakfast!
Hope to see you soon! Check here for availability.
